Founded in 2023 by Janee and Pete, Lost Nomad is a Washington, DC-based brewery that focuses on differences in beer based on where they’re brewed around the world. Janee works for the US State Department and as we move around the world experiencing different cultures we wanted to bring different versions of the same styles of beer back to the US (think: a Mexican Lager is very different than a Haitian Lager and so on). Or in some parts of the world, a beer culture doesn't, or can't, exist so we brew what could be.

Craft beer presents consumers with a lot of information, and there are many levels upon which to appreciate the art form. The ingredients, the styles, the cultural approaches from all around the world; there are many aspects with which to engage. But it all starts with openness to learning, whether as newbies or dyed-in-the-wool craft aficionados.

Our foundations resonate with the communities and customers we will serve: the concept of experiencing cultures around the world through beer, how different cultures brew beer, and ultimately the idea that there’s an incredible breadth in even the most straightforward styles.
