Jakarta may not be the first city that springs to mind when one thinks of craft beer, but Tenggara Brewing Co. is rewriting the narrative with a uniquely Indonesian approach to brewing. Founded by husband-and-wife duo Leon from Australia and Liz from Indonesia, the label began as a modest home-brewing experiment in 2018.
Tenggara (south-east in Bahasa Indonesia) is a fusion of the two of us. Leon from Australia and Liz from Indonesia. The beer in your hand is a culmination of our shared values, cultures and experiences. Since 2018, we've been experimenting with local SE Asian ingredients to twist traditional styles into something slightly (and sometimes very) different. Finally in January 2024, after navigating the uncharted choppy waters of the growing local craft scene, we are able to share our first three thoughtfully crafted beers with you all.
