Taster at the brewery. Pours a clear, dark brown color, with a big, frothy, white head. The nose is caramel, brown bread, lavender, and black pepper. Sweet and malty, with a light bitterness. Light to medium body, with an acidic, smooth mouthfeel. This is a pretty balanced, sharp, and complex saison. Nice.

Taster at the brewery. Pours a dark, murky gold, with a white ring. Smells essentially like a Moscow mule, which makes sense. Lime, syrup, vanilla, and strong ginger. Sweet and a bit tart. Light body, with a creamy, lightly acidic mouthfeel. This is a fun, but strange, beer.

A clear, dark amber colored beer with a small, dense, off-white head. The aroma is on the malty side, with some beef stock hints and caramel. It’s medium bodied and soft on the palate, medium sweet. The flavor is bready and caramel-ish, with grassy hops. Some lemony notes. Lasting bready and caramelish finish with some grassy notes. A fine steam beer, but rather boring anyway. 141220
