Taster, on tap at the Amundsen Bryggeri & Spiseri. Body colour is dark with a deep reddish tint. Filmy layer blanketing the glass. Attractive aroma of ripe fruits and sweet malts. Well blended taste of chocolate malts and red oranges. Dry, bittersweet ending. Very nice (Oslo, 26.09.2011).

Taster, draught at the brewpub. Nice lacing, short-lived beige head. Dark brown body with a red tint and a wheat haze. Ripe banana and dark malts to the nose. Dried fruity taste, sweet and bitter in fine harmony, notes of caramel and liquorice. Nice dark bitter ending. Full bodied, well made brew (Oslo, 26.09.2011).

Smallish beige head. Opaque black body goes deep dark brown at edges. Roasty chocolatey aroma with licorice and faint smoke notes. Dry-sweetish roasty chocolatey taste with smoky minty notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dryish roasty salmiak licorice aftertaste with herbal smoky notes. A bit plain and austere when cold, but improves substantially on warming up. (0.5 draft at brewpub.)

250ml, draught at the brewpub. Pours an attractive, almost mahogany coloured body covered with a thin, beige layer and a few bubbles at the edge of the glass. Plain roasted aroma of mid-sweet malts. Dark chocolate flavour plus a note of caramel followed by dark fruits towards the ending. Well made brew, very moreish (Oslo, 30.08.2011).

Medium offwhite head. Hazy deep red body. Fruity coriander and banana aroma with mealy coke bubblegum notes. Dry-sweet fruity wild berry and wood taste with herbal coriander notes. Fullish body. Slightly sharp and hot mouthfeel. Dryish alcohol and fruit aftertaste with elegant coriander, wood, and wild berry notes. Buttery finish. Really nice. Much better than it was 1 week ago. (0.3l draft at brewpub.)

Small beige head. Hazy opaque deep reddish body. Fruity candy and lacquer aroma with dusty caramel notes. Dry-sweet intense fruity candy taste with wooden dusty notes. Really quite sweet. Fullish body. Mild, hottish, slightly slick mouthfeel. Dry wooden lacquer aftertaste with intense fruity candy dusty notes. Buttery finish. Nice, but weird, and a bit too artificial and dense. (0.5l draft at Amundsen.)

Big beige head. Hazy opaque reddish amber body. Mealy citrusy resiny wooden aroma with pine needle notes. Dry-sweet mealy citric caramel taste with wooden resiny notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, mealy, yeasty notes. Dry resiny wooden dandelion aftertaste which segues into long buttery finish. Nice, but a bit harsh and yeasty. (0.5l draft at Amundsen.)

On tap at the brewpub. A hazy, golden beer with a two-finger, white head lightly clinging to the glass as I drink it. It’s malty on the nose, with a fruity touch and a faint dms hint. The flavor has pale malts and a touch of fruits and citrus. Citrus peel with some bitterness towards the end. Medium body, silky, and with a nice carbonation. A refreshing one, but with a touch of dms that even though it’s barely detectable is a bit annoying. 110823

On tap at the brewpub. A finger-thick, off-white head sits on top of a cear, dark ruby colored body. The aroma has a ligth peatyness, a touch of roasted malts, as well as drired fruits and a whiff of dms. It’s lighlty roasted and peaty on the palate, with dried fruits and some bitterness. Silky, thin and a bit flat. Some bitterness in the end. Clearly not in top form this one, yet it’s a quite tasteful and easy drinking beer. 110823
