12 ounce can. Pours a clear copper color with a medium sticky white head. A sweet lemon and biscuit nose. The flavor is smooth citrus, tangerine, lemons, caramel, crystal malt. Very smooth and sweet. Good.

Draught. Black pour with medium off white head. Some bready notes in the flavour. An oaty note in the aroma. Malty and good. Something to drink on a cold, clear day.

Dark brown, almost black body with lasting white head. Aroma is malty with a hop ring. This smells like an IPA but tastes like an imperial brown. Very malty with a coffee and chocolate note in the flavour. Full bodied with a malty finish

Bomber from Made in Oregon. Pours slightly hazy amber with a beige head. Aroma is incredibly hoppy. Lots of sweet fruit and citrus. Maybe a little pine. Med + body. Flavor is earthy, fruity, citrus, pine. It’s sufficiently NW to really grab the tongue sides. Finishes earthy and bitter. Just excellent.

Tap at Bailey’s Taproom, Portland - 07/11/12. Light black with a thin dirty coffee head that retains well. Big red wine punch on the nose, wood tones, roast malt, touch of booze in general. Tastes of dark malt, red wine, wood tones, light tarte notes, a little chocolate. Medium bodied with limited carbonation leading to a dry finish. Decent.

Sample at the Tap House Grill in Seattle. Hazy dark amber pour with a medium fluffy ivory white head that recedes slowly. Sheet of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of floral hops, fruit and malt. Medium-bodied with a moderately bitter hops character that has floral and citrus notes, plus some bready malt in the background. The finish is hoppy with a citrusy aftertaste. Above average overall.

Tap at OBF. Pours gold with a foamy white head. Aroma is Belgian yeast/ester. Med body. Flavor is Belgian spice (banana and light fruits) with some arguable hop. It’s tasty. Seems slightly sour, but could be citrus.

Again, if there was such a thing as a Cape ale, this would be one. Hoppy aroma, but not as hoppy as an IPA, medium to full bodied, balanced flavour between malt and hops.. Clean finish.

Tap at OBF. Pours amber with a creamy/frothy off-white head. Aroma is quite hoppy. Med body. Flavor is light caramel, heavy citrus hop and some astringent oak. Not getting any vanilla tho. Finishes slightly roasty and very bitter. Quite enjoyable.
