Dark brown pour with thin near white head. Light grassy aroma. Flavour is not as malty as most schwarzbiere, Light hop finish. Try it if you come across it. BTW what is a black kolsch?

Bomber from Made in Oregon. Pours dark hazy gold with a slight creamy/bubbly white head. Aroma of slightly singed malt with a lot of nose pounding hop. Near full body. Flavor is making me think of a tripel hopped NW style. I’m imagining Belgian yeast/spice ester things. It is very smooth, but seems to have a hint of earth. And there’s a lot of hops of every sort of flavor. Complex flavor wise, but brilliant effing ale.

On tap at Bailey's Taproom, pours a cloudy golden with a small white head. Aroma of cinnamon, apples, some yeast - very spicy and apple-y. Flavour is quite strong, with lots of cinnamon, some ginger-like spices - not an orthodox tripel at all, but surprisingly drinkable for it being so spicy and bizarre, and certainly unique. Good stuff.

I was told this was a specialty beer with habanero peppers and cucumbers. I smelled little chili. Mostly the aroma was a little hop. It tasted like the juice in a pickle jar. Pas Op!

22 oz. bottle, pours a murky orangey brown with a small white head. Aroma of herbal hops, citrusy resious hops, and some spices. Flavour of piney hops and tons of the herbs, which are spicy with a bit of coriander, horse blanket and pot, and some biscuity, caramel malt to back. The more you drink, the herb becomes more and more potent. Difficult to drink after a while, but it works in small doses. Decent.

Not goatey at all. Draught. Good looking with a lekker white head and good ringed lacing. Herbey aroma. Obviously there’s something besides malt and hops in this beer. If I were to guess, I’d say parsley and african coriander. Good on a hot day and not stinky at all

Draught @ Hawthorne Hophouse. Rated on 11.07.2012
Aroma is sweetish and fruity with peaches and hints of hay. Flavour is hoppy with peach, some gooseberry bush and nettles. Decent.

Bomber from PC Market of Choice in Ashland, OR. Pours light orange gold with a minimal white head. Well, now, the aroma is not so subtle cat pee. Full bodied with very frothy carb. The flavor is cat pee that is refined. Over a bit of caramel backbone. But the cat pee aspect is amazing. Fortunately I do have a backup bomber. The finish is so hoppy. I’d like to write citrus, and probably should, but cat pee just seems so damn appropriate. These guys nailed a great beer.
