Description

Appearance: Clear golden color with a white head that leaves an ok lacing.
Aroma: Citric and mild malty.
Palate: Medium body. Moderate sweet and an ok bitterness. Average carbonation.
Taste: Malty, mild fruity and mild citric.
Overall impression: Ok citric touch. But as an APA I would have expected a more flavor full ale. Ok as an premium lager.
Personal stats: On tap at source

33cl bottle at Larvik mikrobryggeri. Slightly hazy dark brow with a beige head. Aroma is dominated by smoked wood with notes of bacon, malt and hints of caramel, anis and other spices. Moderate sweet with lovely smoky flavour and a nice bitterness. Well balanced and easy drinkable. Medium body, feels a bit thin. Slightly bitter aftertaste with notes of citrus. Lovely smoked beer, my favourite from Larvik mikrobryggeri so far. (2013-07-26) --- Beer merged from original tick of Bøkerøkt on 26 Jul 2013 at 18:23 - Score: 7

From a sample tray at Larvik mikrobryggeri. Very dark, close to black with a small beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, caramel, dark dried fruits and hints of coffee, alcohol and citrus. Medium body with slightly soft carbonation. Medium sweet with mild roasty flavours and a noticable bitterness in the finish. A bit on the sweet side, but quite well balanced. Fairly mild flavourwise, but quite nice. (2013-07-26)

Update: (APA) Mild, but pleasant hoppy with fruity notes. Hops is more dominating this time. Slightly better than the previous time. 50cl on tap at Larvik Mikrobryggeri. Slightly hazy (dark) golden with a white head. Aroma of caramel, fruits, malt and hints of hops. Mildly fruity and caramelly with a slightly hoppy and bitter finish. Easy to drink and quite refreshing. Fairly well balanced with a slightly dry finish. Short aftertaste. Not exciting, but quite drinkable. (5-3-5-3-12) (Staff told me it was a brown bitter.) Updated: Nothing unpleasant this time. More fitting weather too. Good as a thirst quencher. Citrusy and refreshing. 50cl on tap at Larvik Mikrobryggeri. Slightly hazy golden with a small white head. Lightly fruity and grainy aroma with hints of citrus, spices and some strange stuff. Smells a little bit unpleasant. A bit sweet and fruity with a light bitterness in the finish. Fairly well balanced. Ok. (4-3-5-3-11) (2012-12-22)
