Bottle at the Fearrington Inn - The Goat bistro. Poured a dark amber color, a little muddy with a medium sized slightly off-white head. Aroma was light spices, brown sugar, sweet dark fruits. Reminds me a bit of the spices used often in the Anchor Christmas beer. This was pretty tasty.

A clear-looking dark brown beer with a dense, finger-thick dark beige head leaving curtains. It’s very coffee-ish on the nose, with some notes of sourness and spices. Nutty, roasted flavor with caramel and a nice bitterness and some orange zest, as well as lots of coffee. Pleasant carbonation, full body and quite dry on the palate. It feels almost sourish in the finish. It’s an interesting one, I like the coffee impact, and it’s sure a beer I could have a few of. 140829

4oz pour at Churchkey comes a clear, sweet potato brown with some cloudy, white head. Nose has some malt, corn, cracker, biscuit. Flavor has some corny sweetness, orange, honey, mild biscuit. Clean finish.
