Pours pitch black with a small tan head. Aroma is roasted dark malty. Dry chocolate note. Bitter, roasted and dry malty. Lingering dark chocolate. Ends dry and bitter. Solid carbonation.

Pours hazy deep amber with a beige head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, honey, chocolate and earthy. Taste is medium sweet and light to medium bitter with a chocolate finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is fizzy.

Pours cloudy very dark brown with airy light tan head. Clear aroma of malt, with notes of coffee and caramel. Sweetish flavour of malt and something sweet (honey?... not...), with bitter, roasty notes. Aggressive carbonation. Sourish and metallic aftertaste. Disappointing.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a slightly hazy reddish brown color with a finger high creamy beige head. Roasted malt aroma has a grainy smokiness. Flavor is more roasted malt and smokiness, though subtle. Sweet creamy mouthfeel with a slight tart rye grain note. Finish has hints of dried fruit and spicy hops.
