Bottle @ The 4th Annual Fastelavns-Tasting Ulfborg, 2013. Pours cloudy yellow with a white head. Hay, grass and mild yeast. Smooth and dry.

Hazy amber color; compact head. Has a very nice aroma of mildly roasted malts, cereals and caramel. The body is solid, with a good structure; there is a strong flavor, caramel and biscuity malts, with traces of roasted malts (more evident in the end), and moderate sweetness; as always from this brewery, the bitterness level is adequate, and the final is well balanced. Excellent.

Cloudy brown color; creamy head. Mild aroma of caramel, light hop too. Correct body strength, with some body roundness; the malts are always a bit sweet at this brewery, but this beer has a mild flavor of roasted malts too; the hopping is a bit hidden, but of good quality. It has a good bitterness level, and because of the roasted malts the final gets a bit drier than their other beers. Well balanced.

Cloudy gold color; creamy head. Mild aroma of dusty malts, caramel and hop. It has a quite good malt flavor, with a quite smooth mouthfeel, and also a light but pleasant sweetness; light caramel flavor; but nothing is outstanding. It has correct bitterness. Well brewed, but unexciting.

Hazy blond color; compact head. Mild but pleasant cereals and hop aroma. Quite dry mouthfeel and lean body; there is a mild cereals and malt flavor, followed by a decent hopping that timidly show some hop quality. Pleasant.

Good malt flavor, quite sweet for a Helles, but still with some light biting touch; good bitterness level, it’s a quite good quality hopping, but not extremely grassy like some of my favorite. Another solid and well brewed beer at Kärrners.
