Courtesy of hellbilly. Waxed bomber at the Black Friday Tasting pours out amber in body with copper hues and tan head. The aroma offers up a nice mix of sweet malts, pine hops, some sweet vanilla and a bit of bourbon near the end of the draw. The taste jumps forward with pine hoppy goodness as well as some crystal like malts and then riding up into some pleasing resiny hop notes. It flows smoothly into sweet bourbon and vanilla into the finish. I love the balance between barrel treatment notes and hoppy goodness and maltiness of the beer. Well done!

750mL pours hazy orange – copper with modest tan head. The aroma is kind of musty citrus rimmed with faint tropical fruit and a spicy hop twang along with a resiny hop sense struggling against sweet maltiness. The taste is similar with sort of a shallow grapefruit to tangelo hop flavor note along with faint mango sensation too. It runs into a modest level of citrus hop bitterness toward the finish. Behind the hops is a bit of sweet maltiness. This ends with a lingering and pleasing bitterness.

Bomber pours clear amber-ish copper with tan head. The aroma has some roasted malt notes mixing with sweet dark fruity esters such as cherries and prunes. The taste is much the same with modest amounts of roasted malts, grainy malts and a bit of earthiness all blending together along with sweet prunes, dates and cherries. The hops this beer has are well off in the background and provide only snippets of spicy and earthy like hoppiness.
