Sample at Beerfoot. Hazy mahogany color with a medium beige head that recedes steadily. Sticky strings of lacing on the glass. Roast malt, hops and fruit in the nose. Light-bodied with flavors of chocolate malt, caramel and earthy hops. The finish is sweet with a malty aftertaste. Decent overall.

Location: Bottle at Biga on the Banks, 1/25/14
Aroma: The nose is slightly off, some malty notes, and an off hop presence
Appearance: It pours a clear yellow color with a small white head and light lace
Flavor: The flavor is much the same, just kinda of off, a little buttery, mild bitterness
Palate: The body is light-medium, a touch thin, with an okay feel and and off finish on the mouth
Overall Impression: As it was drinking this I just kept thinking of the wonderful Man Men line: "Not great, Bob!" Yup, that sums it up. One of my least favorite IPAs I can remember trying.

Bottle. A creamy, beige head sits on top of a clear, dark amber to brown body. Roasted malts, toffee and some coffee in the aroma, pretty boring. The flavor has some sweetness, with nuts, toffee and roasted malts, and some coffee hints. Medium body, semi-dry and with a decent carbonation level. Roasted, coffee-ish finish. A beer that starts off pretty boring, but turns out to be quite nice anyway. 140118
