Hazy bright amber and copper color with generous compact head. Very nice aroma of pungent hops, Nelson Sauvin? Soft mouthfeel, a bit of caramel flavor and sweetness but not chewy; plenty of resiny hops, a bit orangey; more caramel in the end. I’d like more crackery malts, but this is also excellent.

Tap at Hanshin’s Portland Event. Laurelwood Nut Brown Ale 6.4% Pouring a deep brown with a thin beige head. The aroma is nutty chocolate, think a nutty muffin. The flavor is a bit sweet than expected with a well balanced roastiness and nut spread character. Flavorful and easy drinking, it was my favorite of the tasting set.

12 oz bottle poured. Pours a dark reddish snow globe with a swirl fizz head. Spiced heavy malt aroma with a sweet caramel front flavor. Nice roasted finish. Solid winter beer here.

Sampled from the tap at Bier Stein. Pours a clear orange gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges and laces. Aroma has straw and grass notes with a bit of citrus underlying. Flavor has a bit of dry pine with grass, hay and grains supporting.

Bottle bought in Portland, Oregon, by the wife. Golden with a thick head. Hoppy with a healthy citrus fruitiness that’s not over stated, but has plenty of lemon meringue flavour.

Expected black, instead it’s dark mahogany, clean, with beige nitro head. Nice roasted malt aroma. Smooth mouthfeel, lightly sweet, some roasted malt, some coffee, but also some taste of "bad" coffee. More roastiness in the final.
