Description
First and foremost, Mike & Cathy opened Laurelwood as a reflection of what they wanted in a neighborhood restaurant. As the parents of young children, they wanted a family friendly environment that did not end and begin with being simply offered a high chair. As native Pacific Northwesterners, it was important to support our local farmers and purveyors & to support sustainability and the organic movement. As neighbors, it was important to create a place where friends and families could meet to have a relaxed dinner and a couple of drinks that supported their community. These are the factors that are most important to us and really help set us apart from other brewpubs and dining establishments.

Pours bright coppery gold with a white head. Citrus aroma - soda without the sugar? Med body. slightly roasty malt; flavor is kind of an unsweet lemon lime thing. Fairly dry. Nicely bitter. With time the citrus is just citrus. My fatigue no doubt. Arguably crisp. Definitely tasty.

Bottle picked up at PDX, passing through. Medium, clear amber small ring of head. Aroma starts with some pungent hops before giving way to some leathery malts. Taste also starts with the hops, astringent and dank, but some solid malts bind the whole thing together. Lingering bitterness brings the palate back. Potent IPA.

Super good balanced Northwest American IPA. Aroma is mostly fresh hops with a little bit of caramel malt. Flavor is again fresh hops some grain and a little bit of pale malt. Bittersweet with just the right amount of Carbonic tasting everything is very well balanced. The carbonation offsets a slight amount of softness in the body excellent finish super good drinking.

Tin. Pours pale clear with thin fast vanishing white head. Citrus and grass aroma. Light bodied, balance with a edge of tongue hop finish. Better than most pale lagers.
