22 oz. bottle, pours a hazy orange with a medium white head. Aroma brings out fresh tart oranges, mangos, and wheat. Flavour is very fruity and moderately tart, with tart oranges, mangos and pomegranate, and light wheat. Super fruity, quite tart and extremely refreshing. Great depth to this and very flavourful. Very good.

Glass at the Tin Bucket. Pours a jet black color with a small beige head. A nice nose of chocolate, light barrel, big fruity esters, tobacco. The flavor is deep dark fruit, a big but not over the top whiskey barrel, vanilla, tobacco, prune. big roast. Finishes dry. Very drinkable and very good.

Bomber from Belmont Station. Pours translucent gold with a creamy white head. Aroma has lots of fruit, and a little pine/citrus. Full bodied. Instant hop burn beginning. Flavor is fruit, citrus, gets some caramel, then goes fairly earthy. And then resin/pine pops up. It’s quite fruity, has fair amount of caramel, and is bitter indeed, tho not bitingly so. Amazing good ale.

Bomber. Bend is one of the hot breweries in PDX it seems. Pours a clear copper color with a large white head. A nice nose of caramel, resin, lemon. The flavor is certainly good: big resinous fruity sweet hops, balanced with biscuit and honey malt. Lingering big bitterness. Damn nice IIPA. Big bitter and orange finish.

Tap at Bend Brewing Co, Bend, 24/05/13. Very lightly hazed pale blonde witha little in the way of a head. Nose is grain, light hops, citrus, cereals, toasted malts. Taste comprises pale toasted malts, grass, lemon rind, touch of orange, hops. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, crisp finish with a little bitterness. Ok refreshing stuff on the hot day that it was sat outside, but nothing I’d look to revisit.

Crisp hazy orange coloured body with a bright bronze glow and a nice three centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of piney and especially grassy hop scents with some noticeable malt and alcohol, but the hops are central here. Medium-bodied; Assertive grassy and herbal hop flavours dominate with a great balance of malt, some light alcohol and a hint of dry notes - but the grass and herbal flavours really come out, in a good way. Aftertaste shows mostly hop bitterness, but the beer is perfectly balanced and the malt flavour is also noticeable. Overall, a great IPA with more of a focus on grassy and herbal flavours - great to sample! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Belmont Station in Portland, Oregon on 12-April-2013 for US$5.19 sampled at home in Washington on 23-June-2013.

Tap at Bend Brewing Co, Bend, 23/05/13. Clear golden with a thin off white head. Nose is malt, grain, light spice, touch of fruit. Taste comprises caramel, biscuit, bread, dark fruits, light spice. Medium bodied, fine carbonation. Drinkable but pretty average, lacks depth in the flavour that a decent heller bock should carry.
