Bottle from River City Cellars on 01/31/2009. Slightly hazy golden body with a medium creamy off-white head. Sweet grain and light toasty malt aroma. Toasty malt flavor with some light grain. Medium light body with moderate carbonation.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a small white head over a hazed maple hued body. Aroma is grainy with caramel, bread, and a slightly husky finish. Taste is sweet upfront with bread and then proceeds to flavors that are husky with cracker and finishing dry with low residual sugars. Light carbonation.

Sampled from a growler from the brewery. Pours a dark brown color with a tan head. Fair head retention and good lacing. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate and bitter hops. Very bitter taste with notes of chocolate. hops and a milky note. Some fruity notes as well... green apple and cherry. Full bodied.

Sampled from a growler from the brewery. Pours a clear brown color with a medium head. Good head retention and lacing. Bitter aroma of citrus hops, rye and caramel. Taste is bitter as well, also with citrus and rye. Medium bodied.

For my last beer on my Asheville Beer Trip I had to crack something local and special. What better than one of my favorite styles from one of my favorite breweries. 22 ounce bottle from Bruisin’ Ales. Pours a slightly hazy vibrant yellow colro with a large white head. Average head retention and good lacing. Very grainy aroma with some subtle grassy hops. Taste is grassy hops with a soft graininess. Medium bodied.

Bomber Pours clear lemon yellow with a tall, sticky white head. Saaz hops in the nose and the flavor. Softly balanced. First come the hops then the malt. Light, crisp and refreshing as a good Kölsch should be.

Bottle on 01/18/2009. Clear dark brown body with a medium creamy tan head. Sweet malty aroma, some earthy malts and light peat. Sweet malty flavor, more earthy malt, some peat and caramel. Medium body with moderately low carbonation.

Bottle on 11/28/2008 in the Great Butters Tasting of 2008. Slightly hazy dark brown body with ruby hightlights and a medium frothy light brown head. Big malty aroma with some molassas and caramel and a touch of peat. Sweet caramel, molassas, some dark fruit and a dry floral hop bitterness. Medium body with moderate carbonation.

Bottle on 11/28/2008 in the Great Butters Tasting of 2008. Very clear dark brown body with ruby highlights and a large foamy off-white head. Sweet caramel, molassas, some roast and a bit of sour. Sweet caramel, molassas, light nutty hints with a good sour kick. Light body with moderate carbonation.
