Winter Cycle - Wine Barrel from Flat12 Brewing Company

Draft. Sweet wine, orange, caramel malt, and orange peel aroma. Hazy golden yellow with minimal head. Sweet orange malt followed by dry white wine flavor. Moderately bitter grapefruit peel and quinine finish. Interesting - nice combo, works well.

Draft. Herbal/medicinal rum, orange, berry, and toffee malt aroma. Brown with minimal head. Boozy herbal rum and caramel malt flavor. Nice body. Really took on rum aroma and flavor.

Draft. Sweet bourbon and light chocolate malt aroma. Dark chestnut with minimal head. Sweet cherry bourbon and light chocolate malt flavor. Body on the light side. Pleasant.

Draft. Light bourbon and chocolate malt aroma. Dark chestnut with minimal head. Sweet milk chocolate and herb flavor. Smooth - surprisingly subdued bourbon influence.

sampled at Mad Anthony’s Oktobeerfest - This deep brown colored brew has a caramel, wheat, and dark fruit aroma. Its mild bitterness is more hops than is typical for a wee heavy. There’s also sweet caramel malt, wheat, and maybe a touch of dark fruit. Not much alcohol is noticeable.

sampled at Mad Anthony’s Oktobeerfest - Pours black with a small tan head. The aroma is of rich bourbon with some rye and dark roast malt. The flavor is full of bourbon with readily apparent rye content and tasty vanilla notes. It’s roasty, full bodied, and really good.

sampled at Mad Anthony’s Oktobeerfest - Pours hazy orange with a slowly diminishing head and nice lacing. It smells of caramel malt and citrus hops. It tastes of big, citrusy hops and equally big, malt sweetness. There’s the expected long, bitter finish. Quite good.

sampled at Mad Anthony’s Oktobeerfest - Pours a hazy straw color with a small white head. Yeasty, citrusy aroma. It tastes fairly sweet with a mildly bitter finish and some fruity notes. Good.

Draft (growler). Sweet plum, chocolate malt and woody/herbal aroma. Dark brown with small head. Slightly sweet plum, light chocolate malt, and moderately bitter herb/grass and ash flavor. Very tasty.
