12oz bottle. How old? Who knows. Golden pour, which is surprising bc it’s much lighter than the super mongoose. Ligtly sweet tea malts with oily hops. Low bitter and no caramel malts, which is a great step up.

Can from Total Wine in Tukwilla. How old? Who knows? Maybe new, maybe years old. Though, I doubt its too old. Basically, this is what DIPA tasted like in the early 2000s and Hale’s doesn’t give a fuck. I guess super mongooseseses or mongoossi. Fortunately, the caramel malts aren’t overly sweet and caramel and the bitterness isn’t too high. Not my likes but within a doable range.

Bottle at Chuck’s CD. This is exactly what a Hales beer should taste like. It lots of blacknmalt without being a stout, a shot of alcoholic barrel, and moderate autolysis. So, it’s a like Sam Adams Triple Bock but smaller. Meaning lots of variance.

Draft pour at Hales. Pours a cloudy golden color with a quick fading head. Overly sweet aroma of citrus fruit. Flavor i’s grapefruit bitter up front, with a candy sweet addition. Grainy bitter constant reminder. Not really smooth or refreshing. Sounded great, but missed in some key areas for me.

5oz Draft at brewery. It’s this a radler bc the useless beer tender knows nothing. Hazy dark golden. As usual with a grapefruit IPA the fruit cover up the worse aspects of the beer and highlight the citrus. So, it’s fine . I feel like I taste sweet grapefruit juice.

5oz at brewery. Hazy, almost cloudy, dim straw color. Some weird sweey, Totti fruiti character throughout. Just throwing me off, almost like an ester gone awry, slick pear. In some other beer it may he color but here it’s distracting me. It’s like a milky pear. Weird but I may be perseversting on it top much.

Can from Beers of Europe. Pale and slightly hazy golden colour with a thin head. grainy wheat and light floral aroma with a touch of berry fruit. Slight sharp edge to the taste. Thin body.

Cloudy golden color with small head. The aroma is a bit perfumy, lightly fruity, oldish. The flavor is also sweetish, also because of lack of bitterness, some oak, fruity esters, and some booze.

Cloudy amber color with medium head. It shows strong signs of barrel aging, vanilla. The mouthfeel is moderately sweet, but also a bit sour; boozy.

Bomber from Michael’s in Moses Lake, WA. Everything seems to click from the start, instant grassy aroma and a fizzy, pale golden pour with moderate airy head. Taste continues with more meadow, grassy flavor and finishes with a mild hoppy snap. Tasty and goes down easy.
