Looks rough. Muddy flat brown. Smells dull dark brown...not even getting a definitive note of anything out of here. Burnt-tasting. Indistinct malts. A bit watery. Yikes.

Hazy amber with a thin head. Estery, alcoholic aroma with a light raisiny, fruity character. Soft body with light acidity. Again, a mix of raisiny fruitiness and esters on the palate. OK, not terribly refined or exciting but functional.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of Theis. Pours a cloudy amber with a beige head. Odd chemical, gluey aroma atop some sweet roast. Thin body, sweet roast, licorice and chemicals. Slight roasty bitter finish. I really hope this is off. 250711

Bottled. An unclear dark brown beer with a huge brown head. The aroma has notes of beechwood smoke, chocolate, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of chocolate, malt, and beechwood smoke, leading to a dry smokey finish. Thanks Theis for sharing.

Bottle. Dark and quite opaque brown with a big bubbly beige head. Aroma of malt, dark fruits(mostly plums and raisins), caramelized brown sugar, yeast, some spiciness and light alcohol notes. Sweet caramelly flavor with malt, dried fruits, light berries notes and a dry, quite spicy, finish with some warming alcohol. Medium-full body. A decent Belgian.

Bottle. Hazy dark amber-brown color with a medium beige head. Honey, toasted malt, toffee, yeast, caramel and spices (mostly sweet) in the nose. Sweetish-spicy flavor with yeast, some dark bread, caramel, yeast, fruity notes and surprisingly for its strength - a somewhat alcoholic feel. Finishes drier and spicy. Medium-bodied with a slightly creamy texture. Decent.

Re-rate 5/19/11: Bottle sample at a blind Hefeweizens tasting. Cloudy, foggy golden. Aroma of wheat, fruits, candies and soapy notes. Flavor of yeast, fruits and lots of chemicals. Finishes with very unpleasant bitterness. My 19th (and last) place of the tasting. 5/3/3/2/6=1.9

Bottle. Hazy dark honey-amber color with a huge long-lasting white head. Sweet yeasty-fruity aroma with some citric notes, spices, honey and some caramel hints. Spicy sweetish flavor, quite yeasty, pretty heavy on the spices with light sugary notes, some bread, citrus peels and some estery fruitiness. Finish is drier. Medium-bodied. Not bad. 7/4/6/3/13=3.3
