Draught @ Brewdog Helsinki. Pours pitch black with a smooth white head. Aroma of roasty malts, coffee, licorice, rye and herbal hops. Taste is herbal hoppy, roasty and slightly earthy with some rye, pine, licorice, coffee and ash. Finish is burnt roasty, massively herbal hoppy and slightly earthy with some lingering bitterness, hints of rye and pine. Draught (backlog). Hazy reddish amber colour with a mediumsized creamy head. Aroma is rye bread, some mild nutty notes, chocolate and some slight floral and grassy notes. Flavour is red berries, quite bitter floral/grassy notes as well as some slight bready and grainy notes to it.

(Keg at One Pint Pub, 20161118) The beer poured black. Its head was small and lightly brown. Aroma had pine, resin and burnt malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were pine, resin, burnt malts, liquorice and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy, burnt and bitter. A nice hoppy dark ale. The burnt flavours weren’t dominating.

(Keg at Stones, 20161118) The beer poured mahogany coloured and hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had caramel, grass and pine. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were grass, pine, caramel, molasses, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet, malty and bitter. A nice malty brew without excessive sweetness.

Draught @ OlutExpo 2016. Pours clear golden orange with a smooth head. Aroma of juicy fruits, zesty grapefruit, grass, hay and caramely malts. Taste is smooth, fruity and juicy with some caramel, hay, pine and grapefruit. Finish is crisp, juicy and fruity with some caramely malts, citrus, pine and herbal notes. Flavours were fruitiness, citricness, grapefruit, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy and bitter. A good citric and mildly tart brew.
