Description
Mike Hess Brewing is one of the premier craft breweries of San Diego. We set out with a mission to bring people together over great beer and were early on in the craft beer revolution. We were the region’s 33rd brewery back in 2010 when our first location, then a nano-brewery, in Miramar was opened. Now, in our 10th year, we have 5 locations in California, including the “OG” spot, which has since tripled in size!

22oz $7 bomber pours with a clear pale gold body that supports a thin white head. The aroma offers up plenty of fruity extract juice notes like black berries and some strawberries as well as a thin soft fruity cotton candy sensation. The taste delivers a pleasing refreshing modest tartness that quickly picks up berry and pomegranate fruitiness. To midway the tartness levels out and into the finish a light wheat note is noticed that seems to carry a faint wheat sourness from time to time. It ends with lingering and fading fruity tartness and a soft wheat note coating the palate. Pretty nice.

Can from Appellation Wines Comely Bank. Appearance - bright amber with a neat lace head. Nose - orange and a light hint of the rye. Taste - more orange going into dry shredded marmalade. Pine and resin at the back. Palate - medium bodied with a tangy texture and a long dry tangy finish. Overall - enjoyable.
