Description
Mike Hess Brewing is one of the premier craft breweries of San Diego. We set out with a mission to bring people together over great beer and were early on in the craft beer revolution. We were the region’s 33rd brewery back in 2010 when our first location, then a nano-brewery, in Miramar was opened. Now, in our 10th year, we have 5 locations in California, including the “OG” spot, which has since tripled in size!

Pour is a milky looking yellow with a large white head. Aroma is pale malts but also a creamy sweet malt maybe from the wheat? Flavor is a clean malt a bit of sweetness and a grassy hop. Very soft mouth feel. It’s like drinking cold fresh well water. This was a pretty good and refreshing beer for summer or really anytime. Also the entire lid of the can comes off for when you feel like slumming it.

Tap at BeerTemple, nobody had any idea which version it was so I’ll rate it here. Hazy golden with creamy white head. Sweet caramel and fudge, dried lime (?), onion, bakers yeast, light spicy in a roasted and bitter way. Medium sweet and under medium bitter. Medium bodied with creamy feel. Interesting stuff.
