Description
Mike Hess Brewing is one of the premier craft breweries of San Diego. We set out with a mission to bring people together over great beer and were early on in the craft beer revolution. We were the region’s 33rd brewery back in 2010 when our first location, then a nano-brewery, in Miramar was opened. Now, in our 10th year, we have 5 locations in California, including the “OG” spot, which has since tripled in size!

Bottle. Light hazy deep amber liquid with medium off-white head. Aroma of lemon peel, pineapple, mango, light bread, citrus, light caramel and light grain. Taste is light sweet and medium bitter with notes of pineapple, citrus and light caramel. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. A bit too much on the maltier side.

Keg at the North Park tasting room, 15/11/14. Black with a decent tan covering. Nose is chocolate, roasty tones, dark toffee, charr. Taste comprises spice, chocolate, good roasty notes, dark fruits. Full bodied, fine carbonation, sweet licks in the close. Ok impy but a touch sweet, could do with more bitter/roast to give a better balance.
