Bottle from Meidi-ya in Japan. Dark amber to medium brown color. Reddish tint. Little head, quickly turns to a bit of lacing. Malty aroma, slightly fruity, caramel. Not much hops in the nose. Light flavor. Malty with lots of caramel, quite sweet. Almost no hops present. Sweet, malty finish. This is not a proper IPA. It isn’t a terrible beer, quite drinkable really, but rather tasteless, like mass-produced pale ale. Too sweet, not complex, not near enough hops.

Mild malzig-wässriger Antrunk, langweilig, etwas künstlich süß, was aber nicht weiter stört. Muffig süßlich werdend, etwas nach überreifer Banane. Milder Abgang, wenig malzig und herb. Was soll dieses Bier darstellen? Test vom 7.4.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 7,5,6,5,10,5 - 5,60

(On tap) Clear, dark brown with an orange hue and a creamy, beige head leaving neat curtains of lacework. Lightly roasted malt aroma. Medium in body with sweet, roasted malts and lightly burned caramel. The finish has a faint hint of burned malt. A very light Porter. Tui calls this a "West Indian Pale Ale" as opposed to Tui itself being an "East Indian Pale Ale". It’s all bullshit of course. 160208

Bottled(330ml). -from Utobeer, Southwark, London.
Nice clear amber coloured, medium sized white head that went away very fast, malty nose. Mild sweet malty and dusty hoppy with dry faint fruity finish.

Bottle courtesy of and shared with ozujsko (thanks!)Poured a medium sized fluffy off white head that went away fast on top of a dark copper body. The nose is malty, a bit dusty with odd notes of tropical fruit. The taste is watery, dominated by sweetness, notes of chewed up bubblegum, plastic, and caramel malt. Somewhat fakeish, but not unpleasant. Definitely not the worst beer of the day.

Bottle from the Dodgi’ Deli’ Cowley Road, Oxford, 18-10-07 Poured a dark amber with white head, had some malts on the nose but otherwise very little else. This tasted bland in fact unbelievably bland, where were the hops? Where was the taste? Why bother? I’m not going to bother going into a lengthy description for something so boring.

Pours a clear red-orange with a mid-size white head. Aroma is fruit, malts, some citrus hops, but not much. Crisp, clean body. An IPA? I don’t think so. Where are the hops? Where is the bitterness? Citrus? Pine? Anything? Has more malt than anything. Some yeast, fruit sweetness as well. It drinks easy and isn’t offensive, but there is nothing bringing me back to this brew.
