Gushing to preposterously large head; hazy peach coloured beer. Overwhelming citrus and wood nose (lemonwood), very woody even, at the same time as fine lemon - but only 'whiffs' of Brett. Tart taste, and - very surprisingly - spicey palate on top of a citrussy, lemony start. Wood in the palate too. Faint lavender and thyme. Not very heavy body. Dry, but not exaggeratedly so. Acids are subdued -just my oesophagus thinks otherwise. Aftertaste has a little bitterness - not surprisingly woody in character. I cannot say this gueuze is really overwhelming me. Obviously everything has been done to suppress acidity and express Brett-character. And if t'is better therefore - I tend to dispute.

[Sampled January 2004] The aroma is fantastic; sour and wild fermentation at its best. The color is orange and it has a beutiful head. The flavor is sour yet sweet at the same time with strong notes of the wild fermentation. A fantastic beer.

Blond-amber colour. Quite transparant body (especially for a gueuze). Lots of bubbles. Small white head. Sour fruit-aroma. There is one word which can describe the flavour perfectly: whooooooow! This is so good. Initial sweet-soury flavour ends sour-sweety. This is a champagne!

Yellow with orange shine; 7cm white head, irregular and quite stable. Very orangey nose; faint tobacco, spicey (coriander,...) Sharp orange-zest taste, obvious acidity, wheat-like, perfumed. A little bitterness and no excess sweetness. Rather sharp mouthfeel (carbonation, acids, alcohol). Well-bodied, finish is creamier. Not bad at all, but balance and mouthfeel could be bettered towards less abrupt transitions.

Dark cloudy red color, short pink head. Aroma is old gueuze, oak wood and light cherry. Taste is again oaky, tart, not very fruity, cherry hardly noticeable. Tart palate, but not very tart, quite soft even. It could be more fruity, but a good thing was that the palate was not jaw-breaking sour.

Ultra-superb indescribable deep red colour; good dense pink head. There is also an ultra-flunky deposit at the end. Concentrated cherry aroma, full as nothing else but the bursting of a fresh, ripe sour cherry in one's teeth. Superb-tart taste, concentrated full-cherry flavour, neither sweet, neither outspoken acidity. There is a lambic underbuild, but is definitely subjugated to the all-conquering fruit flavours. All the above doesn't prevent it from a quite vicious acid-burn. Full fruity mouthfeel. Armand wanted this to be a flash from the past - and that's what it is. Now that real Schaarbeekse (in fact, virtually wild) krieken are getting rare and not commercially available anymore, he proved that if one really wants, one can make true tradition alive once more.

Golden-blond colour, quite treble. Small white head. Alcoholic flavour: citruslike. This flavour I never tasted before. It tastes like tabaco or something like that. Let's just call it Sweet-sour citrus flavour. Surprising beer.
