My first Flyers beer actually made by Flyers. Pacemaker Porter is near black in colour. Roasty, chocolatey, hoppy aroma. The flavour is fairly hoppy, with some astringent roastiness. Could really use an injection of malty sweetness, as this is bracingly bitter. It’s not bad, but could be the bitterest porter I’ve ever had, strangling the subtlety right out of it.

Amber colour. Light caramel aroma. Toasty notes and light caramel in the light body. Flavor profile is just that simple. OK starter beer. Looking forwward to my next visit, when they’ll actually have a decent range of their own beers on, and a few brews under their belt as well.

Did I mention I’m a kick ass beer hunter, showing up at a brewery the day after they fling the doors open. Only two of their own on tap right now, the starter stuff. This was golden amber in colour, sweet and slightly grainy. Light body. It has a light tartness and a hint of hops. No better or worse than expected from a first batch Blonde.
