bottle at Ft Wayne tasting, Sept 2013 - Pours very dark brown and smells of roast malt and coffee. The flavor is much the same and in a good way. It’s full flavored and full bodied, a straightforward porter with a pleasantly lingering roasted finish that’s overall quite enjoyable.

On tap at Bottleworks, pours a near-black with a small tan head. Aroma of oak, brown sugar, and toffee - quite complex on the nose. Flavour brings out smoky whiskey notes, wood, and a little brown sugar. The whiskey is front and centre, but without being too smoky. A whiskey bomb for sure, but done very well. Excellent.

Sample at Hale’s in Seattle. Brownish-black pour with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily. Rings of lacing. Aroma of roasted malt and chocolate. Light body with flavors of roast malt, caramel and a touch of piney hops. The finish is sweet with a malty aftertaste. Decent overall.

Pours opaque black with a tall tan head. The aroma is smoky with raisins and cocoa. The flavor has a off putting burnt note right at the start. Roasty and bitter. I’ll pass on the roasty burnt malts in this one. I prefer a sweeter, smoother style of Porter.

2014-04-18, draught at the brewpub, 6-3-6-3-12=30
Cloudy blond color with creamy head. Nice hoppy aroma, but also a bit cheesy. Dry mouthfeel, leaner than expected; some malt flavor, with a hay character; very strong bitterness, maybe too strong in the final with a chicory impression, with a lot of hop oils, a bit grassy, leafy hops.
An APA, rather messy.
2012-08-07, bottle from QFC - Seattle (Ballard), 7-4-7-5-14=37
Hazy amber color; medium sized head. The aroma is a mix of caramel and resiny and fruity hops, nice. Quite good caramel and toffee flavor, with moderate residual sweetness; imposing hopping, very resiny, abrasive almost, with some bitter oranges fruitiness; very long final, strong.
Bold IPA, not as sticky as a Double IPA, but as hopped.
