12oz bottle pours clear deep gold with thin white head. The aroma is sweet malts, sweet vanilla and little else. The taste has vague hop bitterness, sweet vanilla and sweet malts all hitting all at once right from the start. The bitterness grows to tepid levels into the finish. Decent enough.

12oz bottle pours clear deep gold with thin white head. Doesn’t really look like a hefe. The aroma is kind of grainy, kind of earthy meets lime peel and then a cereal note. All of these come together to create a neat aroma. The taste starts with vague hop bitterness, sweet malts and a grainy cereal note. Midway and into the finish the lime like note is joined by floral hops and a lingering vague sort of hop bitterness. Nice.

12oz bottle pours deep gold with weak white head. The aroma has some strawberry that seems sort of extract like rather than strawberry and little else. So it smells alight. The taste has thin notes of strawberry mixed with floral hops. Beneath these notes is a slick cane sugar like sweetness.

Aroma is canned peas, with artificial strawberry underneath. Clear amber, thick head. Flavor is stale malt and beans with a weird plastic chemical tang. Filmy mouthfeel. Cheaply made with flawed execution.

Bottle from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours lightly hazy darkish gold with a slight white head. Not much in the aroma. Moisture, but anything else? Med body. Flavor is slightly sweet malt. Not wheat for me. Makes me wonder if they got the bottling process confused. It’s also very lightly hoppy. Overall make me thing of a tasteless pale ale. I do like the thickish mouthfeel - which conflicts with medium body - but ? Anyway another beer that causes one to wonder WTF they thought they were doing . At least it is not unpleasant.

Pours black into an English pint. Mocha head with medium retention recedes to hug rim. Smoky chocolate aromas. Thin with milk and dark chocolate, espresso and caramel front to back. Lasting smoked chocolate finish.

Bottle. Lemon peel and light malt aroma. Clear golden yellow with small head. Light wheat malt flavor with moderately bitter finish. No Hefeweizen characteristics - just a wheat ale on the hoppy side.

Total Wine, Fairfax 12oz ($4): Pours a black with a small, quickly dissipating head. Aroma is smoke, chocolate. Taste is nice and burnt and smoky. There is plenty of sugar in this guy. A moderate amount of roasty bitterness in there. A slight amount of booze in there. Body is nice and velvety. This is pretty good stuff.

Bottle @ home. As I remember, I’ve never enjoyed a beer from these guys. Hope I remember incorrectly. Hazy, reddish orange appearance with a fluffy, off white head. Thick, sappy, resiny, grapefruity hoppy aroma. Fairly thick caramel, toasty malty, bready, rich resiny, grapefruity hoppy flavor. Sticky and thick. Not horrible but not very enjoyable either.

Location: 12 oz bottle from State Line, 5/17/12
Aroma: The nose is fairly faint, but the best way to describe it is that it smells a bit like a nilla wafer
Appearance: Pours a clear orange color with a small, fizzy white head
Flavor: The taste is kind of dull too, similar to the nose, and light malty sweetness
Palate: The body is light, it it is pretty watery, with a lively carbonation
Overall Impression: I wasn't particularly impressed. Everything about this one is somewhere between subtle and boring depending on how "generous" you are feeling.
