Bottle 75 cl. RBESG Rome 2010. Pours a hazy brown with an orange hue and an off-white head. Tart, fruity nose and a little overripe fruit. Medium body, there’s a distinct tartness in there - lactic acid. This is clearly infected, but still drinkable. 030610

Bottle. A hazy golden pour with a soft white head. Nose of sweet malts and maple. More sweetness in the flavor with some strong honey notes. Medium in body with light carbonation. Clean finish and somewhat refreshing. A nice beer.

37.5 cl bottle from Birroteca La Tana del Luppolo - grazie Marco! Pours cloudy golden straw color, scant white head, no lacing. Aroma of funk, sweat, wet musty blankets and barnyards. Taste is sour, acidic, lemons, summer fruits. Incredible body and complexity, a significant improvement over the regular Hanssens geuze. Very tasty.

Bottle, at Jimmy’s no. 43 during the Lovullo Tasting Session. Pours a bubbly, light gold with a white, fizzy head. Wheaty aroma with some fruit. Mildly sweet flavor, with more wheat, spices, hints of citrus. Some hops in the tail. Very refreshing, though still with some depth of character. Excellent.

Happy hour at Birreria Paradiso in the midsts of Snowmageddon B.I.G.. Draft. Slightly hazy orange-tan color with a small head. Creamy and mild body. Mild green tasting herbal spiciness. Minimal hoppy balance. Low C02, maybe not the freshest of kegs. Mild, unique. Sage. Underwhelming.

2nd beer of Italian Beer tasting at Finalmente in Sleepy Hollow, NY. This beer is hazy yellow and smells herbal and bright. Tastes of straw, floral, and corriander with some bitterness. Pretty good.

Sample at the Eurostash II tasting on 12/12/09: This beer pours a cloudy yellow color with a medium off-white head that dissipates steadily. Thin rings of lacing on the glass. Tart apple aroma with notes of metal and malt. Medium body with flavors of apple, spices, malt and yeast. I really could not pick up any absinthe. The finish is fruity with a malt aftertaste. Decent overall.
