Murky, casi opaque amber ale with a super thick off white head. Very pleasant aroma of orange peels, coriander, bready and fruity notes. In mouth, good malty beer with herbal spices, yeast, mineral notes, sustained bitterness. This is going into Orval territory! BB 30/04/08. Bieropholie import.

No head whatsoever, clear orange beer with amber shine. Pure phenolics in the nose, solvents and above all fusels jumble. Taste is somewhat milder, with an apricot-flavour, but the beer appears tired, to put it gently. Tired to death, the mouthfeel proving that the paintstripper ate all the oak away... Next try, better.

With East Kent Golding

Cloudy amber color. It has some aroma of yeast and hop, nice. Medium malty body, sweet caramel, dry final, some nice hop touch. Quite good.

The word Nüa used for these beers means "naked" in the local dialect; a way to signify the return to "pure beer". Talking to the brewer, it seems that they have interesting projects, and the Seson is one beer that I would like to try; unfortunately the choice available at the festival is not the best.

The name is Doppio Malto, that in Italy means any beer above 6.2/6.5 % ABV (by law), in other words an European Strong Lager, or more commonly a Malt Liquor, or a common Strong Ale. By the way, the brewer defines this beer as Altbier

Beautiful amber color. Not much malt flavor, some caramel. Simple.

A Kristal Weizen according to the brewer

Blond color. Clean and dry, with a very light wheat character; besides a light vegetables aroma, it is produced correctly; but the style is not my cup of tea.

Orangey, hazy beer with a small but firm head. Hops, and a good lot of them, less, but present is a vegetable aroma, but after some time ureum comes up. Hoppy taste, and hopoil. To me, the absint is absent (wondering if that’s a good thing); there are, however, hints at honey. Bit burning MF (not too bad), hopoil gives viscous effect. Well, the absint isn’t there, but the beer is good, no discussion.

Generous yellowish head over hazy orange-golden beer. Citrus, lime peel, a bit of non-barley grains impression. Good bitter-citrus, going over into a short malty flavour, turning again to a bitter, burning taste, good balance. Well bodied, tart ending, long citrussy aftertaste. Apt to the idea, one to try.
