Golden beer with orange shine, well-carbonated; thinnish, just off-white head. Green fresh leaves, bit of grass, caramel or even toffee in the nose - alcohol no doubt. Very sweet-alcoholic taste, gets immediately into throat warming, retronasal brandy flavour. Cookies & caramel, ending very sweet-alcoholic. Faint, faraway honey flavour. As said, warming, burning MF, body is much thinned by the exceptional ABV. Sadly rather one-dimensional. Better than most E.S.L., however.

From the tap at the Beer Gallery - Pivni Galerie in Prague-Holesovice: dark golden, medium, lasting foam, full malty, bready nose, also malty ( caramel, cookies) taste leading to a long lasting, hoppy finish, well balanced, well quaffable, comes quite near to the Prazdroj.............

Bottled. Pours thick amber, no head. Aroma of alcohol with a touch of cherries. Malty with soft mouthfeel and freally sugary. Roasty and really hoppy. The hop flavour takes over from the sugar and alcohol, and makes this superstrong lager seem a little like a bottom fermented barley wine.

Very clear darker gold, virtually no carbonation; small yellowish head. Cocos, yeasty, bit of caramel in the nose. Again caramel, and a bit of honey in the taste, but overlaid by an indifferent bitterish-metallic flavour. I agree with Filip on the touch of saltiness, much less on the excellence of the taste. Medium bodied, dry, beer is really dead. I might have to retry this one, in better condition. However, the beer has been in capable, professional hands - but mine - all the time?

Pale golden. Light bodied, medium sweet, big late bitterness. One of the more clean examples of Czech pilseners.

Mahogany coloured. Toffeeish aroma. Rather sweet, creamy, slightly roasty. Drying out towards the finish.

Pale golden. Grassy saaz aroma. Reasonably full bodied, rather fruity, bitter finish. A well made strong lager with nice hop flavour.
