Dark amber coloured body with a thick brown head. Aroma of caramel, malt, toffee, blood and raisins. Medium-bodied; Bad blood/metal taste up front with some malt-generally bad, with the taste turning to licorice at the end. Aftertaste bland, not horrible. Overall, bad-but interesting. A great beer to try, and thanks to Jon for letting me try this one! I sampled this pint on draught at RFD in Washington, D.C. on 20-June-2004 with JonR888710 & Haddon90.

Dark brown colour. I'm not encouraged by the wet paper smell. Vaguely caramelly malts, thin body, plasticy finish. Where's the roast at? Not much for a foreign stout either, more like a dark lager.
