Description
The history of the family brewery goes back to 1877 when master brewer Julius Feierling founded the ''Inselbrauerei'' with a restaurant in the old inn “Zur Insel”, already mentioned in 1460. Due to several reasons in 1981 brewing at the brewery seized.

Directly opposite the original location of the Inselbrauerei in 1989 the fourth generation, the qualified brewer Martina Feierling and her husband Wolfgang Rombach laid the foundation stone for the construction of the new house brewery. In doing so, they resumed the family tradition of brewing beer. They've been brewing organic beer since 1999, with a six-day fermentation and three or four weeks of lagering.

Draught at the brauhaus
Cloudy deep blond color; compact head. Mild but nice malt aroma. Quite sweet mouthfeel, with strong flavor of straws and cereals, some malt too; correct bitterness. Simple but pleasant.

Tap @ Feierling. Bit hazy golden color, short head. Aroma of hop, bit herbal. Ok bitter taste, but a bit boring. Maybe I expected a bit more hop by the name of it.

On tap at the brewpub, Freiburg. Hazy yellow-orange body, puffy off-white head. Grassy nose with some tangy, fruity characteristics. Estery body, grassy and cakey with tangy lemon notes. Peculiar, and pretty good.
