Port Brewing Company owns 3 breweries/brands:
Description
Established in 2006, with a 3 vessel 30 bbl brewery originally capable of making over 5,000 bbls (now upwards of 15,000 bbls) of beer each year, the new brewing company set about shaking up the craft brewing world with two distinct beer lines: the aggressive San Diego / West Coast styles under the Port Brewing label, and a Belgian-inspired series carrying the “Lost Abbey” name.

Today Port Brewing continues at the vanguard of craft brewing, ranked as one of the top 10 new breweries in the nation by both industry experts and enthusiasts alike, driven in large part by its extraordinary Lost Abbey beers and a library of 1000+ plus oak bourbon, brandy, sherry, and wine barrels that comprise one of the most remarkable barrel-aging programs for a craft brewery of any size.

Aroma of stone fruits, apricots. Taste is smooth, lovely subtle sourness, balanced, very nice stuff, love the ‘fresh’ stone fruitiness of this, great stuff...tx Erwin N.

Can from Bine & Vine. Pours rather opaque, but against strong light it is definitely ruddy. Decent beige/tan head. Toffee with some floral for aroma. Approaching full bodied. Flavor is toffee, heat, floral, and something hoppy providing bitterness. Between the heat and the hop the malt aspect is well controlled - so tho it's not dry, that doesn't matter. More heat than many might enjoy, but that's part of the flavor IMHO. Good stuff.

19.2 oz. can in a trade with tfontana. Much thanks. It does look the part. Aroma shows burnt caramel and deep roasted malt. Flavor is roasted malt and bitter chocolate. Hints of dark fruit. Unfortunately the body is super thin for the style. Damn near watery. In the year 2011, this was top tier. Today, real average.

Strong oaky bourbon, prune, chocolate malt, and hay aroma. Very dark brown with small brown head. Mildly sweet bourbon, chocolate malt, and mildly bitter hay and alcohol flavor. Body much lighter than expected. Light malt flavor. Good but not great - don't know if I let this one age too long.

English AF. Wonder if this will see a barrel. Plenty of balanced bitterness on the finish. Where did I put my rolos.
