Draught@Koulu, Turku. Amber colour, small off-white head, which leaves a nice lace. Aroma is floral, some nectary and mild fruity tones with some sweet grains. Flavou ris floral, fruity, some nectary and a bit wooden tones. Smooth and nicely balanced.

Bottle (from Koulu Brewery Shop). Deep brown colour (pitch black until half bottle was poured!), small off-white head. Aroma is chocolaty, some roasted, some cocoa and liquorice with some alcohol sweetness too. Flavour is roasted, chocolaty, some liquorice, alcohol and mild yeasty tones. Pour carefully, theres a bunch of yeast in the bottle.

A golden beer, a head is medium and blond. Aroma has grain and maltyness, grass and hops. Taste has grain, grass, clear bitterness and herbal hops. Medium bodied. Crispy.

33 cl bottle @ home, BBE 1.3.2025 Aroma has sweet fruitiness, grapefruity hops, tropical fruits. Flavour has grapefruity hops, some grain, minerals. Foamy palate. Finishes with odd maltiness and lingering herbal bitterness. Rather fruity pils, the presence of other than noble hops is quite evident. Probably the first time I am drinking a Koulu beer outside Koulu.

ABV: 10.0%. Clear dark red brown colour with a small, fizzy, virtually none lacing, mostly diminishing, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, toasted - roasted, dark malt, sweet malt, moderate chocolate. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a long duration, dark malt, licorice - wood, sweet malt, chocolate - roasted. Body is medium to full, texture is oily - creamy, carbonation is soft, finish feel is warming and light alcoholic. [20240424]
