Description
Our family have tended this very special patch of Herefordshire countryside for over a century, adapting and changing over time. From yeoman beginnings as a small 22-acre fruit farm, our offerings have evolved and expanded as each new generation has taken up the mantle as custodians of this land.

Connected with Once Upon A Tree. Uncertain if still producing ciders...

Bottle picked up from Once upon a Tree, Ledbury and consumed at home Saturday 14th October 2023 in the company of Craig and Stella, listening to DJ Paulette and now Don Letts on 6Music. Clear gold, any bubbles were soon gone, apple strudel qualities here, warming and a little bit sticky but wonderfully zappy amongst the sweet edge, lovely edginess a wonderful counterpoint to all these Impy Stouts tonight. Fabulous.

Bottle that I picked up from either Oakchurch or The Hop Pocket, Herefordshire, trying to remember which place think it was the latter. 28.11.10 consumed 03.12.10 Pours clear like a glass of weak lime cordial. There is a touch of citric sharpness on the nose which strangely isn’t that present in the mouth, actually rewind I am getting the citrus now, it is peary with a little lemon juice. Lovely as it is, it has come up against a stormer tonight called Pips Cider. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.5

Bottle from Oakchurch Farm Shop, Brecon Road Staunton On Wye Herefordshire 28.11.10 consumed later that night Pours rusty warm gold with good clarity, but little if any carbonation. Strange aroma little bit like egg mayonnaise but with wet wood, interesting but a little weird. Nice in the mouth, medium dry, bit woody some fruity smokiness, unusual and a grower. Rich and tangy, soft and pulpy but drying around the gums. A6 A4 T8 P4 Ov14 3.6

Surprised Charlotte and me with a rush of bubbles up the nose when we went to sniff it. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet with a average duration, pear. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft to lively. [20101030]

Bottle at Craigs big Edinburgh tasting, I picked this bottle up at The Hop Pocket, Bishops Frome, Herefordshire. Shared in company of Craig, Stella, Jan, Charlotte, Fritz and Loz 30.10.10 This is really fizzy in fact it’s very much like a champagne, I think that it zapped Charlotte and Jan with a rush of bubbles up the nose when they went to sniff at it. I’m not sure that I could tell if the Blakeney Red Pears but once the carbonation subsides a little in the mouth there is a wonderful soft pearness there but this is a little dryer than a typical S/V of that pear would be. It’s quite pricey at £10 a bottle however it would make a great alternative to Champagne and I thoroughly enjoyed it though wouldn’t have wanted too much. A6 A5 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8
