750ml dusty bottle. This melomel pours with a clear reddish-purple body and no legs or head/lace. Looks like Welsch’s Grape Juice in my glass. Aroma of sweet honey, tannins, raspberry, grape and strawberry. Taste is sweet with grape and raspberry, a slight minerally note, and the classic honey/yeast profile that runs through all of Redstone’s meads. Very light effervescence, refreshing mouthfeel.

750ml Bottled on June 4, 2007. Labeled as Redstone Meadery Honey Wine with Juniper Berries. Pours a clear yellow hue with some particulates and decent legs. Aroma is sweet honey with some wine tannins and a bit of bitterness (from the juniper?) in the finish. Taste is sweet upfront but balanced by the spice and bitterness of the tannins and the juniper. Alcohol is noticeable, but this stuff is still very drinkable. Thin mouthfeel for a mead of this gravity.
