About
We find that the best moments in life — the most memorable — are when we spend time in the company of those who are most important to us. Our beer and spirits are made for these moments.

It all started for us in 1997 when Brett VanderKamp believed that his hometown and the brewing industry were due for a shakeup. And so, New Holland Brewing Company was born in Holland, Michigan near the shores of Lake Michigan.

Today, New Holland is recognized as one of the leading innovators in the revolution of craft brewing and distilling. With nearly 500 team members, New Holland’s craft beer and spirits are sold across the country, and around the globe. Our retail presence continues to grow with two full-service restaurants, a spirits tasting room, two brick-and-mortar stores and an online store.

We look forward to finding moments to connect and enhancing the lives of people around the world.

Bottle from HoTM. It pours clear deep golden with a small bubbly white head. The aroma is sweet, heavy golden maltage, vanilla, honeyed grains, cereal, biscuity, oats, dull whiskey, apple crumble with vanilla custard and a touch of ambergris. The taste is smooth, bitter - sweet, errs towards being more sweet, vanilla, touch of creaminess, toasty grains, cereal, nuttiness, slap of booze, applied crumble & custard, pear, melon, honey, sweet white wine, fruity whiskey and bread & butter pudding with some alcohol warmth with a drying finish. Medium body, fine carbonation and slick mouth feel. Not as much depth as I had expected. Not bad anyhow.

Note from June 2010 Random bottle from the mini-fridge of plenty. No idea on age, but the label still looks sound. Flying monkeys/golden cap(hat), Wizard of Oz theme. I like it. :D A slow gusher. Poured into my Rare Vos tumbler that I have grown quite fond of recently. A hazy, lemon TheraFlu-colored body. A couple inches of cake-y, whitewash head that recedes pretty quickly. I did pretty well keeping all the floaties in the bottle this time, so a minute later, it settles out enough to grant itself another .5 in appearance. Smell is big upfront with yeast & pepper. Doughy, with a soapy, lemon scent that's just a bit too much. Play-Doh & rubbing alcohol on the backend. Taste is a quick, sharp hit of tin & malt, then major coriander & spent chewing gum. Toasty. End trails off with bitter spinach, a little salt, & a lot of yeast. Not in the right proportions. Carbonation is right in the middle. Body is a little dusty & pretty thin. Refreshing. It's not great, but it comes in a six pack. :P

Notes from October 2012 3.9/5 rDev -3.7% look: 3.5 - smell: 3.5 - taste: 4 - feel: 4.5 - overall: 4 4-pack from Whole Foods. Rounded pint glass. Dimpled stein at the ready just in case things get serious. Brown on black body. Ho-hum tan head. Smells sticky. Melted malt balls & licorice sticks. Macerated brown bread. Chocolate cherries. Milky texture, very lightly carbed. Lots of residual, warming booze(a bit too potent, but not harsh). Anise. Toffee & wood. Puff of ashy smoke & earthy bitterness on the finish. Even better on cask. :)

Notes from October 2012 4-pack from Whole Foods. Pint glass. Hot wings. Football. :) Black with cola highlights. A thin, but constant, frothy tan head. Smells like chocolate wafers & toasted rice. Maybe a little minerally. Milky feel. Oreos. Gentle roast. Very slightly sharp. Mildly sweet. Toasty & soapy bitter finish. Super easy.

12oz bottle shared with friend. Pretty darn nice - bourbon adds nice notes to an already lovely beer. Enjoyed it

12 oz bottle shared by tfontana, thanks Tom. Aroma shows a nice amount of chocolate with bourbon. Flavor follows with a decent amount of chocolate. Bourbon is strong but night hot. Body is good. This is a nice imperial stout.

Bottle from HoTM. Shocked I haven't had/rated this already. The aroma is rich roasted malt, dark roasted coffee, cookie dough, rocky road, vanilla, milk chocolate, toffee, nutty bourbon and chocolate bourbon biscuits. The taste is dry roasted malt, bitter - sweet, earthy roast, milk chocolate, nutty, praline, chocolate bourbons, cookie dough, rocky road, toffee, mars bar, touch of alcohol boozey fun and some damp oak with a warming and roasty finish. Medium - fulsome body, fine+ carbonation. Quite decent. Not as much depth as I had hoped, but it gives a good buzz.
