Bottle. Pours with a mostly clear, pale golden-peachy hued body with a medium large and lasting, eggshell white head that leaves good lace. Aromas are malty, medium grassy, light sulfur, floral, earthy, very light hint of bubblegum, medium esters, toasted malt, lightly woodsy hops. Flavors are of marmalade, ice tea, lightly bready, crystal malt, medium floral, medium bitter, grassy, earthy, mild citrus. Medium to medium full carbonation. Somewhat dry despite a strong malt character. A little bit of an alcohol character towards the finish.

22 oz bottle-trade with jtclockwork-pours black with a tight/rich light brown head with some trailing lace. Aroma is dark malt-roasty/chocolate, wood. Taste is rich oat/dark malt-roasty/anise, biting spice/resin hops, wood. The bite softens, or my palate acclimates for the 2nd 1/2.

Thanks to Armin for sharing - pours pretty thick and black - fairly intense beer, with strong chocolate and anise notes - very intense coffee, roast, char - bordering on ashy and tar-like, but some sweet vanilla tempers it a bit - okay, but a bit over the top and hard to drink more than a few ounces of.

Very crystal clear golden coloured body with a dense, frothy white head and millions of small bubbles rising from the bottom. Aroma of strong malt, lemons, metal and a minor hint of hops. Light to Medium-bodied; Deep pungent bitter hops and metal showing up at first with a lot of pungent tastes and perhaps a bit too strong alcohol/bitter flavours. Aftertaste shows a lot of the same with metal and malt coming through more than anything else. Overall, a strong and decent beer - pungent bitterness throughout, but seemingly coming from a permanent marker - very strong and bitter but not in a great way. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from BevMo in San Diego (Rosencrans Blvd), California on 08-February-2011 sampled at home in Washington on 23-February-2011.
