From a 330ml bottle on 19/8/2011. Pours a clearish yellow golden colour with a medium head..Has a mild floral honey aroma. Not surprisingly, there’s lots of honey in the flavour, along with a decent mild hop finish. Not bad, but nothing special.

Bottle, 9C. Clear copper with an inch of off-white head. Aroma of toffee, medium sherry, some spices, a little smoke. Tastes sweet with singed toffee, some nuts. Decent bitterness with spices, sherry and smoke at the end. Finish too soon overwhelms what should be the main show.

Bottle, 2011 version 6.5%ABV. Gold with a large white head that collapses a bit. Aroma of zesty oranges, vanilla, cloves. Taste is slightly sweet with citric tartness and spicy bitterness. Lovely dry finish with dancing zesty and spicy flavours.

Pours clear amber with a large, lasting head.Nose shows lots of fruit with lemon, orange, sherbet, kiwi-fruit and rose-like characters. Also a lot of spicy phenols I’d usually associate with tripels. Quite different but not particularly amazing or enticing.Flavours show little of the aforementioned fruit, instead there is bready/grainy malt, cloves and soft piney hops. Finishes rather dry, true to style.Carbonation is pretty high.

Pours black with ruby highlights and a large, quickly fading, sudsy head.Nose shows chocolate, cloves, sultanas and grassy, earthy hops. Pretty nice.Similar roasty flavours, but not so much sweet malt and sultana characters.Way too aggressive carbonation. Stupidly high. Body feels watery.

Pours dark amber with a large, quickly fading head.Nose shows prominent smoke, as in smoked meat smoke. Also some woody character. Underneath is sweet rich malt and caramel hints.Smoke carries through as a flavour along with the caramel. Finishes weakly with a faint grainy character.Nice moderate carbonation and rich body.

Pours deep, dark mauve with a small purple head.Nose shows sour berries, sort of similar to cherries and raspberries. Has a lambic-esque character to it. Very appealing berry character.Similar flavours, sour at first before transitioning to sweet berries. Very short lasting finish, quickly fades away to nothing.Carbonation is way too high.

Bottle. Very dark brown with a small, dense beige head. Mild but complex aroma of chocolate, plums, doughy yeast, milk. Taste has milky chocolate, dried fruits, grassy bitterness, pudding spices. Odd beer - quite like a milk stout. The yeast in the aroma didn’t really show up in the mouth either in feel or taste when cold, but was there as it began to warm. Dry finish with allspice.

Bottle. Brownish red with a creamy pink head. Fresh berry aroma - smells more sweet than tart; could be blackcurrants (ie Ribena) rather than boysenberries - a little bread and lemon. Taste is much less sweet than suggested. Hard to tell whether the tartness is from the berries or both. Drying, slightly chewy finish with berry skins and some metal. The metal is a real flavour of the berries too. Too heavy on the berries for me, but it’s a classy drop. Admired it a lot more than I liked it.

Black, tan head. Aroma of toast, chocolate, milky coffee, prunes. Taste has light roasted malt, pruney sourness (I don’t know whether this a fault or a feature, but it’s really too much) and coffee. Medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel. Dry finish with a little bitterness.
