Description
The Belle-Vue brewery is a story of more than 100 years of craftsmanship. Philémon Vanden Stock started as a so-called ''gueuze steker'' as early as 1913: he buys lambic from local brewers and uses it to create "Gueuze". In 1927 he took over the Belle-Vue café in Anderlecht, which was also the start of the Belle-Vue brand. When he took over the Vos Kina brewery in Molenbeek in 1943, he changed its name to the "Belle-Vue" brewery. He transforms from a gueuze steker into brewer. Under the leadership of son Constant Vanden Stock, the brewery grows strongly, partly through numerous acquisitions in the 50s, 60s and 70s. In 1975, the brewery moves into the old site of the Timmermans brewery in Zuun (Sint-Pieters-Leeuw). Belle-Vue has been part of AB InBev since 1981. Within AB InBev, the Belle-Vue brewery also functions as a pilot brewery and plays an important role in the Belgian network.

Das mit Abstand schlechteste Kriek was ich bisher getrunken hab.Nur säuerlich, kaum Kirschgeschmack. Im Nachgeschmack dumpf, leicht abgestanden. Mehr gibts dazu nicht zu sagen. Test vom 20.3.2006, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 10,5,6,4,9,5 - 5,70

(Bottle 25 cl) Slightly hazy dark red colour with a handsome and creamy pink head. Fruity, marzipan-like aroma. Light-bodied with notes of metal and and underlying tartness from the lambic. Distinct cherry flavours with some sweetness, but never cloyingly sweet. I have to admit that I’m a sucker for the best sweetened Krieks - and this is one of them. 120206

Copper to light amber coloured, quite stable mid-sized off-white head; fruity, a bit tart ’n acidic nose; slightly sweet, a bit of "barrique" in the flavour; short, quite dry fruity finish with a touch of mushrooms. O.K. from InBev, far better than some other "sweeties" from only commercial "lambic"-factories............

Beautiful amber color; generous head. Very nice aroma, fruity and sour (like a Flemish Ale), woody. Quite dry mouthfeel but with an interesting vinous character, some astringency and sourness; thin at the end and a bit metallic (this would be the only negative point).

2004 Edition. May 2005. Grape red in colour with a dissipating white head. Lighter cherry aroma. Sweet cherry juice with light sour notes. More light a lightly alcoholic cherry juice than a kriek. Reminscent of the mystery cherry kriek at the Beer Museum. 6-3-6-3-10
1994 bottle from Kulminator, November 2006. A dark reddish brown ale, almost purple, with a thick off white head. Plesant musky aroma of cherries, linen and oxidized malt. In mouth, a sweet yet restrained kriek, with light vinegar, musty malt, light oxidation. Overall, not bad. Medium bodied. Simple. 2 euros. 7-4-7-3-14
