Description
The Belle-Vue brewery is a story of more than 100 years of craftsmanship. Philémon Vanden Stock started as a so-called ''gueuze steker'' as early as 1913: he buys lambic from local brewers and uses it to create "Gueuze". In 1927 he took over the Belle-Vue café in Anderlecht, which was also the start of the Belle-Vue brand. When he took over the Vos Kina brewery in Molenbeek in 1943, he changed its name to the "Belle-Vue" brewery. He transforms from a gueuze steker into brewer. Under the leadership of son Constant Vanden Stock, the brewery grows strongly, partly through numerous acquisitions in the 50s, 60s and 70s. In 1975, the brewery moves into the old site of the Timmermans brewery in Zuun (Sint-Pieters-Leeuw). Belle-Vue has been part of AB InBev since 1981. Within AB InBev, the Belle-Vue brewery also functions as a pilot brewery and plays an important role in the Belgian network.

Bottled(375ml). -nice colored, good refreshing fruit beer, nice fruity taste, but Kriek is much better

Bottled(375ml) as La Becasse Framboise, 5.7%ABV. Bought this in E.Leclerc, Auxerre, France. Only resemblance with Belle-Vue Framboise is bottle, and everything else, including label, ABV, taste, etc. is different. Red coloured, airy pinkish head, sweet fruity nose. Raspberry aroma with notes of yeast and slight sweet. A little bit sourish than Belle-Vue. 7/4/7/4/15=3.7

Bronze colour. Medium head. The barnyard aroma is there..somewhere. Flavour is somewhat sour, somewhat sweet, somewhat watery. A substandard Gueuze.

Beautiful ruby colour ("gore-coloured" said my girlfriend, sometimes that woman really scares me!!)Well-balanced cherry-aroma. Not as sour as Cantillion, but not as sweet as Lindeman. I liked this Kriek.

A beutiful golden red beer but without much head. It has a sharp nose of wild fermentation. And a fresh sharp bitter taste of the wild fermentation. A very drinkable gueze, not too dry or bitter.

Although I actually hate Lambics, I thought the time was ready to try one once again. Other Lambics remind me of extreme sourness and that was all there was. But this one was nice and easy to drink. It was sour, but not as sour as others. If you guys say some more sweetness, well maybe that's why I could even enjoy this Lambic.

Cherryade beer which is pleasant to drink, but is pushing the point of beer.

I sampled the 1994 version if June 2000. Deep golden colour. Sweet cognac flavour. Mature. There are much better gueuzes around, but layed down for a few years it is worthwile drinking.
