With no outside investment or intervention, we make decisions based on what’s best for our staff, for our brewery and for the future of our planet.
This means that when it comes to doing the right thing, there are no shareholders or investors to answer to – we can just do it.

Our farm and brewery take their name from a natural outcrop of ironstone that runs through the centre of our farm; “Rocky Ridge” perfectly sums up our slice of paradise and ironically sums up the somewhat rocky road that we are on as well.

Can. Clear gold, 2cm white head fades a bit. Aroma of spiced bread, a lick of caramel. Upon a taste it's both a little doughy and lemony too. Bitterness is a tad higher than most examples but that's no bad thing.

Can. Fairly cloudy pale orange with a fat coat of white head. Aroma of peach, pineapple and crackers with a sharpening herbal lemon and yuzu edge. So it tastes. A little bit Fruit Tingle. Pretty light bodied but around enough to support the hops (and fruit?). Moderate bitterness also stands out about enough. Interesting.

From a 500ml can on 31/8/2024 (shared with Butz). Pours near black witha medium tan head that disappears quickly. Has an interesting nose featuring coffe and some unexpected zesty citrus. Tastes really intense, as one might expect for 14%. Features dark and milk chocolate, coffee and orange and spices. Very sweet up front but with a sharp tangy bitterness that counters nicely. Slick palate with moderate to average carbonation. A very satisfying dessert sipper.

From a 500ml can on 18/8/2024. Never seen a can carrying the label of so many truly great Oz breweries! Pours a clear lightish amber with a medium head. Has a light caramel and biscuit aroma. The flavour follows suit - typically malty with light caramel and biscuit, and some nuts, finishing with a gentle bitterness. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Perfectly adequate but quite subdued for the style and size. Was hoping for something with quite a bit more punch tbh. A bit disappointing given the quality of those involved.

Can. Dark brown with a cm of beige head. Aroma of very obviously added fudgy chocolate. Pretty light bodied. There's a little bread and mere hints of roast underneath bittersweet chocolate & peppery vanilla before slight bitterness. Let's go to the stoning.

From a 500ml can on 20/7/2024. Pours a slightly hazy golden with a smallish head. The nose features light citrus and stone fruit. Tastes of sweet orange, peach and apricot, with some citrus rind also presenting in a moderate tangy bitterness at the back. Silky mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. A pleasant big oat cream.

Can. Very dark brown, a good cm of beige head. Shyish stone fruit, citrus and chocolate brioche aroma. Just medium bodied. The citrus is more grapefruity than suggested by the aroma, there's a little roast and it's quite thinly bitter (getting a bit parching) at the end. A 30ml splash of a stout would make a good good mix with this one.

Can. Cloudy orange with a loosish 2cm white head. Candied grapefruit peel aroma with some tropical fruit and pine. Crackery with some candied sweetness. Nice grapefruit, some passionfruit and coconut. A little off dry bitter finish. No great depth but good.

Can. Just misted pale gold with a cm of white head. Piercing herbal grapefruit aroma with honeydew melon, pine needles and crackers. Moderately sweet with a little breadcrust under the hops. Almost too clean. There's enough bitterness so the aromatics don't completely overwhelm the whole thing, but just.

Can. Pretty much opaque orange with about a cm of white head. Aroma of vague citrus, some menthol, pineapple, greenish mango, crackers. Cleaner than guessed and the fruit flavours are more vibrant than suggested by the aroma. A brief, moderately bitter finish with some grassy and herbal notes. Dangerously swiggable & pretty good.
