Uchuu Shooting Star Hazy ipa 7% Hazy honey gold with a dense creamy head of foam and an aroma of guava and prickly pear. It’s got nice juicy flavor but isn’t silky in body so comes off a little thin for the style. Other than that they’re making some really solid NEIPAs that command high prices.

Turbid white golden color. Over attenuated, very dry nose with orange juice and mangoes. Astringent over dry mouth, slightly boozy. Good hop character. But Really off from what uchu can do. Not a disaster but pass

Tap at Before 9. Thick hazy gold, flat. Nose is grapefruit, lemon, wheat. Lemony, grapefruit flavor, but too funk. flat flavor, probably too old, a bit finky and lame. Not impressing me.

Tap @ Ohka The Bestdays. Hazy yellow pour, some white bubbles on the top. Nose is soft and tropical, golden kiwi, some dusty chalk. Taste has medium bitterness, fruity and quite good substantial body. Uchu at its best, they really nail their IPAs these days.

Draft at Watering Hole, Tokyo. Very hazy golden orange with barely any head. Aroma of tropical fruit, pineapple, lychee and orange. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Tap at the Watering Hole, Tokyo. Poured a murky straw colour with little life. The aroma is light citrus, stone fruits, light hop. The flavour is moderate sweet light bitter, with a fresh, crisp, grainy, light tart orange citrus, chalky hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with average to soft carbonation.

Tap at Before 9’s 3rd Anniversary party. Side by side with a US hazy brew. Fair Stare Mirror Universe 7% (L) Big Bang IPA Uchu Brewing (R) Right off the bat both look almost identical hazy orange-gold though Big Bang May be a touch hazier/more opaque. Mirror Universe has a rich tangy orange aroma while Big Bang smells juicier with tropical orange juice notes. Mirror State is medium to full bodied with a sweet sugary finish and good juice. BIg Bang is medium bodied but finish a bit dry and the orange tropical juice kicks things off but it ends with a mild bitter bite. Big Bang comes off less sweet and more balanced, not to style I guess but more drinkable, I like the tangy orange in the finish as well. Both of these are really nice beers, when I saw two hazy IPAs with the same ABV with one from Japan and the other the US, I knew I needed to drink them side by side. They’re quite comparable, solid takes on the style without hitting it out of the park.

medium carbonation, big juicy over ripe mangoes, citrus and white gummy. Very smooth. Low medium bitterness. Very juicy. Alcohol well hidden. Nice stuff, though doesn’t standout in any particular

Finally got to try some hazy beer from Uchuu Brewing! 800¥ on tap at Hachi. Uchuu Milky Way IPA 6.8% Cloudy honey wax gold with a juicy but pithily dank aroma. Medium bodied, semi-sweet and finishing dry. The taste is juicy lemon seltzer then herbal light dankness. Very drinkable but not a juice bomb - it is juicy but stays recognizably beer.

Had this in bottle. super cloudy. Cow manure, peaches and melon in the nose. Very odd. Mouth feel is nice. Mint candy, like fruit flavored mint candy that is actually a bit tangy in the palate. Low carbonation low bitterness. Bad nose but afterwards I loved it.
