Review based on the BJCP2015 guideline (Style 22B). Bottle 33 cl - Batch L46. AROMA: medium-low to low hop aroma with a resiny character. medium to medium-high malt presence with toffee, caramel and a faint nuttiness. APPEARANCE: ambar color and hazy. medium ivory head with medium to good retention. leg formation. TASTE: medium to medium-high caramel/toffee malt flavor. medium-high bitterness. malty sweet initially with an almost dry finish. low hop flavor with a herbaceous character. PALATE: medium body with moderate carbonation. no astringency. OVERALL: a good base for an american strong ale that has lost its hop presence.

330ml bottle [Again a big thanks to Tanja & Verena for another donation full of dedicated devotedness]. Slightly cloudy, orangey amber colour with average to huge, frothy, osteoporosing, minimally lacing, white head. Dusty, minimally herbal-grassy, hoppy aroma, minimally bready, malty basis, a touch of dandelion. Taste is bitter hoppy, dry, dusty, herbal, hints of dandelion, slightly bready (Graubrot) malty basis, a touch of caramel malt.

Re-rating (previous 3.7) Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 22A). Bottle 33 cl - Batch L050395 (BBF 04/2021). AROMA: initial medium to medium-high hop aroma presence with resin, slight grapefruit notes that starts to fade with time. medium toffe-like malt background. medium-low alcohol note. APPEARANCE: light amber color and clear. medium moussy ivory head, with good retention. lace formation. TASTE: medium hop flavor with notes of resin and some citrus. medium malt background with a toffee character. medium-high bitterness that lasts beyond an almost dry finish. balanced. slight peppery alcohol. PALATE: medium to medium-high body with a slight texture. medium carbonation. no astringency. OVERALL: a balanced Double IPA between hop and malt, although it should be a bit more hop forward. a nice effort though.

Bottle 330 ml, courtesy of Luka. Shared with JFK10000. Pours dark brown, creamy beige head. Bit hoppy, some coffee, roasted, chocolate. Finishes dry and bitter. Light to medium body.
