Founder and Chief Beer Officer, An Bui has gained international recognition in his years spent working at his family-owned restaurant, Mekong, the Vietnamese eatery located in Richmond, Virginia. Founded in 1995, Mekong flourished into an award-winning spot for beer enthusiasts because of its wide variety of rare and international beers and expansive food menu. After years of spreading his passion for craft beer to the local community and throughout, Bui decided to take things a step further. On September 2, 2014, An opened the doors to The Answer Brewpub, his very own craft brewery. Featuring 56 taps, 2 bars, and an exceptional stage area for live music, The Answer has become another means of An’s continuous vision to expand the Richmond beer community.

12 ounce can from Wine Warehouse, 7/22/23. Clear gold, large white head, good retention. Aroma of floral, Noble hop, doughy malt. Some Scotch tape too. Taste is lemon, bready malt, hint of stone fruit. Moderate bitterness, dry. Solid.

Can shared at home. Pale purplish Lloyd with a pale head. Clumpy fruit. Tart to sweet berry. raspberry and blueberry. Smoothie style body.

12 ounce can from Wine Warehouse, 5/4/23. Slightly hazy gold, large white head, good retention. Aroma of doughy malt, floral and earthy hop. Some sweet lemon. Taste is lemon, doughy malt, earth, pine. Crisp, decent balance. Nice.

Can split at the L6 Xmas bash, thanks to Dave, 15/12/22. Murky orange with a light beige cap that escapes edgewards. Nose is ripe citric flesh, melon, mango, sweet malts, papaya. Taste comprises grapefruit, ripe melon, pine resin, mixed tropical fruit esters. Medium plus bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spliced with juicy come resinous hop bitterness. Tidy DIPA.
