On tap at Tradesmen, pours a hazy dark copper amber with a small white head. Aroma brings out fresh coffee notes upfront, with a bit of lactose and light vanilla. Flavour is very phenolic and metallic, with light coffee, vanilla and cocoa. Flawed but okay.

On tap at Tradesmen, pours a hazy dark red with a medium beige head. Aroma brings out bready malt, toasted caramel and some grassy notes. Flavour is very grassy, with a herbal hop character upfront, with a thick caramel bready malt base. Too herbal and grassy. Not working.

Sample at the ’Smoked Meats and Beer’ tasting on 05/27/2017. Brown-black color with a medium tan head that diminishes gradually to a film. Patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of oak, coconut and chocolate malt. Medium to full body with flavors of roast malt, rye whisky, coconut and chocolate. The finish is oaky with a coconut and malt aftertaste. Pretty good all around.
