Description
At Traveler Beer Company we expand what craft beers can be by adding new flavors and discovering old traditions. We discovered the shandy tradition in Europe and are thrilled to bring this unique style of beer home, to you. Shandys exemplify everything we look for in a craft beer—they are different from the mainstream, fun, inviting, and social, and thanks to the finest ingredients, shandys taste amazing.

On tap at BW3s. Pours a cloudy pale yellow with medium frothy white head that lasts. The aroma is strong lemon zest and wheat. Thin mouthfeel with strong cereal, lemon, wheat, bit watery, decent.

From a bottle. Slight metallic aroma, my wife said it smells like stinky feet. If this was a little more tart perhaps it would be more enjoyable. As is, has lots of spices in there. First I think its immediately tiring then it comes back and says hey, this aint too bad. I’m not one for spicy beers but I like shandies. Just wish it leaned more toward the shandy side of it. Not impressed.

Bottle shared at a tasting at Stas’s place. Cloudy yellow-golden with a small white head. Aroma of sparkling lemonade and grapefruit juice. Mildly tart flavor, a bit sweetish, with grapefruit juice and a light candy-ish hint. Rather light-bodied. Pretty easy-drinking.

bottle - Pours pinkish with a minimal head. The aroma is chiefly of strawberries along with some lemon. The flavor is sweet and otherwise the same. The strawberry comes through nicely but to me it gets too sweet. It’s light bodied and refreshing but overall okay at best.

12 ounce bottle from Wegman’s Lake Manassas, opened 6/5/14. Pours a hazy yellow color with a thin fizzy white head. Average head retention. Aroma of tart lemon, ginger, spice. The taste is strong ginger, candied ginger, spice, dry lemon, pale malt. Medium bodied, lingering spice.

Smell of grapefruit juice. Sediment on the bottom of this bottle. Looks like a cloudy hefe. Pleasantly surprised by the initial taste of this, better than expected. Yes, the grapefruti makes this sweeter than I thought it would, not bad actually. Has a tad of that blunt fruit beer feel to it but yes, OK by me. I’ve tasted better grapefruit beers but overall I found this quite acceptable.

Cloudy golden with medium white head. Nice lemonade aroma, medium/light body, medium carbonation, and some lacing. Taste is malt and some lemonade. The beer flavor and the lemonade don’t melt for me so pass.
