Bottle. A- Grapefruit, orange juice, sweet. A- Yellow color, cloudy liquid, white head. T- Bitter grapefruit, oranges, sweet, cleaner. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, artificial taste. O- A lot better than it should have been. More of a shandy than IPA for sure. Lots of grapefruit and orange.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 4/2016. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy deep orange/copper color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big lemon peel, pomegranate, cherry, orange, ginger, nutmeg, clove, light pepper, wheat, cracker, light honey, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance of fruit/spice, pale malt, and light earthy hop/yeast ester notes; with great strength. Taste of big lemon peel, pomegranate, orange, ginger, nutmeg, clove, light pepper, wheat, cracker, light honey, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light fruit tartness and lemon peel/spice bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon peel, pomegranate, orange, ginger, nutmeg, clove, light pepper, wheat, cracker, light honey, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Very nice robustness and balance of fruit/spice, pale malt, and light earthy hop/yeast ester flavors; with a great malt/fruit/spice balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Moderate dryness after the finish. Medium carbonation and light-medium bodied; with a very smooth, moderately crisp, and lightly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 4.4%. Overall this is a damn nice shandy style. All around great robustness and balance of fruit/spice, pale malt, and light earthy hop/yeast ester flavors; and very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Bottle. Pours hazy yellow-orange with a dusting of a head. Smells of grapefruit juice, a bit of lemon, and a pit of candy. Taste is pleasant. Sparking grapefruit juice, a tiny bit of sugar (but not too sweet), and a hint of lemon peel.

Bottle from Total Wine in Folsom, CA. Pours hazy, near dirty, copper with a slight beige head. Aroma of spice and citrus. Med minus body. Flavor is some wintry season spice, with a little orange. Not sure about the pomegranate. It’s really rather pleasant. But pretty light for a winter beer. Finishes undry and far from bitter, tho the spice helps there.

12 oz bottle from a six pack bought at the supermarket. Aroma is orange, lemon, coriander, red licorice. Pours hazy copper with a medium white head with decent retention. Tastes a lot like Red Vines licorice, as well; some nutmeg. Interesting.

Bottle. A- Strong lemon, pomegranate, spices, wheat, orange soda. A- Amber brown color, cloudy liquid, off white head. T- Strong cinnamon and nutmeg, pomegranate, lemon, spices. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, flavorful finish. O- I did not see this one coming. Such a nice surprise consider I didn’t expect much. I not only tolerated it, I enjoyed it. Lots of flavors going on but they don’t flash and aren’t nasty. Almost reminded me of molasses cookies or gingerbread cookies.
