Hopfiger Antrunk, der für Fritz’ Verhältnisse mild ist. Zwischenzeitlich sind deutliche Malznoten erkennbar. Weiterhin hopfig, weich, blumig. Süßlich bitterer Ausklang. Ein weiteres gutes Fritz Bier. 8/11/11/10/11/11

330ml bottle. Hazy orangey golden colour with huge, frothy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, white head. Floral hoppy and yeasty aroma has a funky touch, hints of roses and lavender. Taste is minimally sweet with a touch of dextrose, floral hoppy and yeasty, also a tart citrusy lime note. Slightly unbalanced and disharmonic.

Bottle from Berlin Bier shop, 5.8% though. Deep orange with a medium head. Aroma of grapefruit. Flavour is sharp bitter, sweet leading to a lingering bitter palate.

Bottle: Poured a clear light brown/copper color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of sweet of caramel malt with some hints of toffee is pretty good. Taste is a good balanced mix between some sweet caramel malt notes with hits of toffee and subtle dry fruits. Body is about average with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. I didn’t pick-up much of the resin hops as expected but I’m almost glad I didn’t because the malt bill is pretty perfect as- is and there is no need mess with it.

33cl Bottle @ the Diest Bierfestival on 20th Oct 2012. Interesting to find a British style IPA from Germany at a small town beer festival in Belgium: I had to try a bottle. Clear, light amber body with a good but thin white head: any sediment stayed in the bottle. Floral and citrus notes in the nose and taste: pink grapefruit and mild malt sweetness as the beer warms in the glass again in both the aroma and taste. So, a mainly hoppy German IPA: would have stood up well to most UK brewed IPA’s I’ve had recently.

Bottle: Poured a cloudy dirty beige color ale with a large off-white foamy head with great retention and some pretty good lacing. Aroma of citrus hops is dominating with bready malt backbone and dry hoppy notes also perceptible. Taste is dominated by medium citrus notes with a solid bready malt backbone and a dry hoppy finish. Body is full with limited filtration and great carbonation with no apparent alcohol. Interesting take on this American style by a German brewer though not as much floral hoppy notes as I was expecting.

12/10/11/9/11/11
